A 27-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a truck In east-Windsor Saturday night in the 4700 block of Tecumseh Road East. The victim, a 27-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
U-Haul Truck Jumped the Sidewalk and Struck Pedestrian
Police were called to the crash scene just before 7 p.m. that evening. Following an initial investigation, they determined that a U-Haul truck, being driven by a 28-year-old woman, drove onto the sidewalk where the victim stood. The truck hit the victim before crashing into a nearby commercial building.
Sadly, the victim did not survive and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
Windsor Police Collision Reconstruction and Forensic Identification Units Investigate
Responding officers closed off access to the crash scene for several hours during the investigation. While processing the scene, police discovered a loaded firearm during a search of the rental truck. The firearm has been seized for evidence.
AM800 reported police have arrested the driver of the U-Haul and laid multiple charges, including possession of a loaded firearm.
Police Ask Witnesses With Information to Come Forward
