Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Windsor Motor Vehicle Crash

yellow police line-do not cross at nightA pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on early Tuesday evening in Windsor, on the east side of the city.

According to police, the victim, a 47-year-old woman, was hit by a pickup truck near Munich Court as she was crossing Twin Oaks Drive. Unfortunately, the injuries she sustained were considered life-threatening. Although she was transported to hospital, she succumbed to her injuries there.

Police closed off access to the area for several hours after the incident to investigate and process the scene. According to a news report, Windsor Police Service collision reconstruction and forensic identification units attended and processed the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
