Greg Monforton & Partners is proud to announce that the firm has chosen to sponsor the Childrens Stage at the Kingsville Folk Music Festival at Lakeside Park from August 7-9.
Dr. Joanna Sweet, an associate at the firm, is a volunteer member of the Sun Parlour Folk Music Society Board of Directors. The society is an Ontario not-for-profit that organizes the folk festival every year.
The goal of the Sun Parlour Folk Music Society is to provide family and community oriented music programming. The society also focuses on having their programming be volunteer-driven.
The Kingsville Folk Music Festival relies on the generosity of its supporters and the passion of board, staff and volunteer members.
The festival is a rain or shine event that includes three days of music featuring three dozen different artists.
Beginning Saturday at noon and Sunday at 1 p.m., kids will be able to enjoy shows from Jangles the Clown, a magician and balloon artist. Local legend Dale Butler will be on-hand teaching kids how to play guitar while the wildly popular Magoo and Karen Morand will also be making noise on the children’s stage.
Todd Crowley’s Musical Petting Zoo will provide kids with a hands-on experience. Other activities such as crafts, face-painting and t-shirt designing will also keep the little ones busy all day.
The Sun Parlour Folk Music Society’s volunteer board of directors has designated proceeds from certain events to provide financial assistance to local children and teens experiencing financial difficulty. The funds provide these young people a way to experience the arts whether it be through scholarships, lessons, workshops or mentoring.
Three-day passes as well as single-day passes are available online. Anyone under the age of 16 years old gets in for free.
At Greg Monforton & Partners, we are dedicated to being involved in community events and have proudly sponsored several community and charity affairs. We look forward to the Kingsville Folk Music Festival and encourage everyone to come out for a great time at this wonderful festival.
