Two people died Friday evening in a four-vehicle crash on Queen’s Line in Chatham, Ontario. Four other vehicle occupants were also injured in this collision.
Chatham-Kent police responded to the deadly Queen’s Line crash around 7 p.m. at Dillon Road.
According to CTV News Windsor, police say the crash occurred when a 27-year-old Windsor man travelling eastbound on Queens Line struck a pickup truck that was headed westbound on the same road. The 27-year-old’s vehicle then struck a late-model Buick carrying five occupants. The Buick was also driving in the westbound lane, directly behind the truck.
A fourth vehicle became indirectly involved in the incident when it swerved to avoid the crash and went off the road.
Two people travelling in the Buick suffered fatal injuries and died at the crash scene. All other occupants were taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The police have not released any names at this time out of respect for the families of the deceased.
Chatham-Kent’s Traffic Management Unit is continuing the investigation of this crash. If anyone has further details, please contact Constable Josh Flikweert at 519-355-1092. You can also send information by email to [email protected].
