Officers were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Tourangeau Road in east Windsor on Saturday night.
Firefighters who responded to the scene had to extricate a 19-year-old passenger from an involved vehicle. This individual had serious injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
The 27-year-old driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was also taken to hospital. However, that individual suffered only minor injuries and has since been arrested in connection with the reckless operation of a vehicle.
According to a news article, the 27-year-old was driving a Chevrolet Sonic. Minutes before the crash, the driver was headed northbound and travelling at an excessively fast speed. At approximately 11 p.m., the SUV blew through a stop sign before crashing into multiple parked vehicles. The other vehicles damaged in the incident were all unoccupied at the time.
