One person has died and another person was treated for minor injuries Friday night following a collision in Tecumseh between a motorcycle and a motor vehicle.
Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Essex-Windsor EMS, and Tecumseh Fire Rescue Service were called to the scene on Highway 3 west of Walker Road at about 6:30 p.m.
According to CTV Windsor News, the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, but was pronounced deceased. The driver of the motor vehicle sustained minor injuries. Neither the motorcyclist nor the motorist have been identified at this time.
The area between Walker Road and Outer Driver was closed for approximately five hours while emergency personnel investigated the accident scene. The exact cause of the crash is still unknown.
OPP continues to investigate and is asking anyone with information to please call them at 1-888-310-1122 or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
