Bencher Greg Monforton and the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor recently celebrated the appointment of Michael Frank as its newest judge. The swearing-in ceremony marked an important milestone both for Justice Frank and our local judicial system.
Greg Monforton, in his role as Regional Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario, was honoured to deliver official greetings on behalf of the Treasurer of the Law Society of Ontario.
In his remarks, Greg congratulated Justice Frank on his appointment and on his career contributions to family law and the protection of vulnerable children. Greg also commented on Justice Frank’s commitment to people who had been denied legal aid and his ongoing commitment to volunteering with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organisation.
Greg noted many more contributions Justice Frank has made in his career, both to the community and Ontario’s judicial system. In his closing comments, Greg had this to say,
“I know how honoured you must be with this appointment and to be entrusted with this public service, but we are honoured – that you would accept this role. You are an excellent addition to the Ontario Court of Justice.
On behalf of the Law Society of Ontario, its benchers and members, I congratulate you on your appointment and wish you all the best in your new role at the Ontario Court of Justice.”
