A driver sustained serious injuries Monday morning on Huron Church Road following a multi-vehicle collision involving a transport truck.
According to the Windsor Star, Essex County OPP responded to the incident after receiving the initial report, which was just before 9:30 a.m. The collision happened in the southbound lanes of traffic near the E.C. Row Expressway. In all, three vehicles were involved, including a transport truck.
When OPP officers with the Tecumseh detachment arrived, they discovered a silver four-door sedan pressed between a dark-coloured mini-van and a transport truck.
Reportedly, the minivan struck the silver sedan, and the sedan rear-ended the transport truck’s trailer.
Injured Driver Transported to Hospital
Essex-Windsor EMS treated the driver at the crash scene before taking the victim to hospital. According to OPP, the driver’s injuries, while serious, are not believed to be life-threatening.
OPP Continue to Investigate
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Traffic remained closed while emergency crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes reopened to traffic at 11:20 a.m.
