Jennifer Bezaire, partner at Greg Monforton & Partners, has announced that the law firm has been retained by Richard Ricky Orum, an Amherstburg bicycle accident victim.
Ricky was riding his bicycle to work on Alma Street around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, 2015, when he was hit from behind by a minivan. The crash shattered the minivans windshield. The 26-year-old cyclist landed in a ditch near Concession 4 South and was taken to the hospital.
Ricky suffered devastating injuries including multiple fractures to his cervical and thoracic spine. Sadly, his most severe injury is a horribly fractured left leg. Surgeons tried to save his leg but Ricky lost that battle and the leg was amputated in a London hospital last week, said Bezaire.
Ricky and his family are devastated, especially because Ricky was so careful that day to ensure he was seen from behind as he rode his bike to work.
Ricky followed the same route to work every day and had attached a bright flashlight to his backpack (pictured above) just days before the accident. He and has family are asking for the publics help.
Ricky and his family would be very grateful to hear from anyone who may have seen him riding his bike in the dark, Bezaire added.
The Windsor personal injury lawyers at Greg Monforton & Partners are working diligently to obtain Ricky the compensation he deserves after suffering these life-changing injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should contact the law offices of Greg Monforton & Partners at (866) 320-4770. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
