We proudly announce that our managing partner Joanna Sweet has been selected recipient of the 2025 Alumni Award for Extraordinary Contribution to the Faculty of Law of the University of Windsor!
This prestigious award is conferred annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to Windsor Law. For many years Joanna has taught Constitutional Law and Auto Insurance Law at Windsor Law. Additionally, she sits on the board of directors of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) and was recently elected to serve as president of the board in 2027-2028. She is passionate about safeguarding the rights of injured people through political advocacy. In 2023 she joined the Executive Committee of the OTLA board of directors and she chairs OTLA’s Continuing Legal Education committee. She also co-chairs the Essex Law Association Bench and Bar committee.
Joanna’s highly impressive career has left an indelible mark, inspiring current and prospective students, as well as fellow alumni. In addition to her career milestones and achievements, she brings a “human touch” to the practice of law. Unwavering kindness, generosity, and resilience are qualities which are integral to her character. Her commitment to ensuring access to justice is testament to her dedication to the profession and the individuals it serves.
Joanna is deserving of this esteemed recognition and we are so proud of her.
