Five people, including three children, were transported to the hospital after a collision with a transport truck Saturday afternoon in Leamington. Some injuries were life-threatening.
The accident occurred at the intersection of County Road 34 and County Road 37 around noon. According to reports, all five injury victims were traveling in a Toyota van that collided with a Freightliner transport truck.
The intersection was closed for eight hours while Ontario Provincial Police investigated the collision.
A witness to the accident noted that accidents are common at the intersection because she said many people do not stop completely or at all at the stop signs.

Collisions between large transport trucks and passenger vehicles can lead to devastating injuries, as smaller cars do not compare in size or weight to a larger truck.
Because injuries from truck accidents can require extensive medical care, it is important to speak with a reputable lawyer. You may be entitled to compensation for your medical bills, pain and suffering, missed time at work, and more.
However, without the guidance of a reputable personal injury lawyer in Leamington, you may not recover the full compensation you need. This is because truck accident cases can be complicated. There may be several factors that contributed to the accident and there could be several parties liable for this type of accident.
An experienced lawyer will have handled these types of cases before and will know how to investigate and build a strong case on behalf of his or her client.
