On Feb. 15 the Windsor Essex Therapeutic Riding Association (WETRA) is holding its 9th annual Jewels and Jeans Gala at the Ciociaro Club of Windsor. Mercedes Lavoy of Greg Monforton & Partners and a board member of WETRA is excited to participate in the event wherein 100% of the proceeds benefit WETRA.
WETRA is a decades old organization that helps children and adults with special needs receive equine-assisted therapy. The children and adults receiving therapy struggle with disabilities such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy and head trauma.
The association offers therapeutic riding sessions, hippotherapy (treatment using a horse), life and vocational skills and camps for children.
The gala, in its ninth year, is classy casual with jeans and will include live entertainment, food and a silent auction over the course of the evening. Prizes for the silent auction include Red Wings tickets, a tour of Viewpoint Estate Winery, a package from Caesars Windsor, rounds of golf from Fox Glen and Seven Lakes, spa packages and much more.
The event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. at 3745 North Talbot Road in Oldcastle, Ontario; tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased online or by calling 519-726-7682.
