Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, a multi-vehicle crash on the E.C. Row Expressway caused three people to suffer injuries that ranged from severe to potentially life-threatening. Three people were sent to the hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred near the ramps for Lauzon Parkway. There was one car with a crumpled front end in the middle of the expressway. There was also a Chevy sedan on the off-ramp with serious damage to its passenger side. Debris from the Chevy was strewn around the off-ramp.
The accident left traffic in disarray, as dozens of vehicles were pointed in all directions because they were forced to stop.
Multiply emergency units were dispatched to the scene, including several ambulances. Windsor police closed the expressway in both directions for several hours, from Lauzon Parkway to Banwell Road. Collision reconstruction experts were dispatched to the scene to determine what happened.
