Windsor police have released their list of the most dangerous intersections in the city. These are the intersections with the most reported auto accidents, based on Windsor Police Service data collected for 2022.
You should expect a more significant police presence at these intersections. Windsor’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is going to be stepping up enforcement of traffic violations (running through stop signs, failing to stop at a red light, and more) to try to reduce the number of collisions and traffic deaths.
Windsor Police Chief Jason Bellaire hopes an analytical approach to traffic enforcement could make Windsor roads much safer for everyone.
10 Most Dangerous Intersections in Windsor
These are the intersections where drivers can expect a heavier police presence, as crashes may be more likely to occur in these locations:
- 3100 Howard Ave. by the Devonshire Mall
- C. Row Expressway and Howard Avenue
- 4400 Walker Road
- Tecumseh Road East and Howard Avenue
- Tecumseh Road East and Lauzon Parkway
- Tecumseh Road East/West and Ouellette Avenue
- Dougall Avenue and West Grand Boulevard
- C. Row Expressway and Walker Road
- Tecumseh Road East and Forest Glade Drive
- Provincial Road and Walker Road
The hope is that the increased police presence at these dangerous intersections causes drivers to reduce their speed, buckle their seat belts and keep their eyes on the road, according to Jennifer Crosby. She is the person who oversees the Traffic Enforcement Unit.
