Six people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision at the Queens Line and Merlin Road intersection. Chatham-Kent police said the Tilbury East Township incident occurred Monday night after 8 p.m.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where investigators determined that one vehicle was traveling eastbound on Queens Line while the other was headed west. These vehicles collided when the driver going west turned to the south. The impact sent one of the vehicles veering into a ditch.
Police confirmed that the westbound vehicle had six occupants, while the only person inside the eastbound vehicle was the driver. All six occupants of the westbound vehicle had to be hospitalized. One individual was airlifted to a hospital in London, while two others were taken to hospitals in London and Windsor.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is actively investigating the crash. Authorities are requesting anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
