Authorities from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have provided initial details on a serious, three vehicle collision that took place on Manning Road Monday evening.
According to the report, a tractor trailer collided with both a car and a van after the first vehicle – the van – had slowed to a stop to make a turn, while heading northbound on Manning Road.
The car following the van slowed quickly, yet the truck failed to stop in time, resulting in a rear end crash that sandwiched the car between the truck and the van.
In a statement from OPP Sgt. Ric Tonial:
The driver of the van and the passenger had minor injuries and then the driver of the second vehicle that got sandwiched, the female driver, she got checked out at hospital and shes still in hospital, but its not life-threatening.
While first responders worked to remove the female driver in the car, it has been reported that the injuries suffered from all occupants involved in the accident were not serious enough to require the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit.
The investigation continues.
